No, there is no fee! Adult volunteers receive a uniform (golf shirt, hat, and lanyard), a meal provided by the Island View at Volunteer Orientation/Uniform Distribution and a parking pass. As a special bonus, if you work three or more shifts you will receive either a complimentary buffet at the Island View or a round of golf at Windance Golf Course, all compliments of our Volunteer Sponsor, Island View.
Junior Volunteers receive a t-shirt, hat, lanyard, and parking pass.
We ask that all volunteers wear khaki bottoms. Men can wear khaki pants or shorts. Ladies can wear khaki capris, pants, or knee length shorts or skorts. No jeans or cargo-style shorts. Tournament hats only, please.
Since there is no fee for the volunteer package, meals will not be provided. There will be concession stands on site available for you to purchase your meals.
Volunteer Village is located on the 9th fairway. The Marshals, Standard Bearers and Walking Scorers check-in will be located in the Village, which will have a lounge area as well as restrooms. If you are scheduled to work and have not received scheduling confirmation from your captain, report to the Volunteer Village for further instructions.
Complimentary Coca-Cola products, coffee, and ice cream will still be available in volunteer village for you to relax and take a break!
We ask that adult volunteers work three shifts over the course of the tournament, which range from 4–6 hours each.
The minimum age to volunteer for most committees is 18 but we do have opportunities for Junior Volunteers. Juniors who are between the ages of 13 and 15 can sign up as Standard Bearers. Juniors between the ages of 15 and 17 can sign up as Standard Bearers, Marshals or for the Welcome Center/Admissions. Yes, your volunteer badge will serve as your admission pass for the entire week and we encourage you to do so. We do ask that you not wear your uniform when not on duty, so please bring a change of clothes if you plan on being a spectator before or after your shift.
No photos or autographs please while you are on shift. When you are not working or in your volunteer uniform, you may use your camera or request autographs at any time.
For 2020, volunteer parking is located on Hwy 15 north of the course in Lot A. Shuttle buses will be available for volunteers. Volunteers will receive their parking pass in their packet at uniform distribution. For more information on parking please click here.
We will make every effort to accommodate your scheduling requests. Make sure to list your request in the “Comments” section on the registration form.
We ask you to help create your schedule by completing your availability during registration. This section of registration asks you to provide us your preferred days and times and will be used to create the master schedule for your committee. After committee assignments have been made your committee chairperson will assign your shifts for the week and notify you of your schedule. Most committee assignments will be made in early March.
The event will go on and we will need your help! Make sure to report to your committee’s check-in location 30 minutes prior to your shift, rain or shine, unless you hear alternate instructions from your chairman.
Your committee chairman will give you specifics on where to meet when you arrive on site. All volunteers will be required to check-in with their chairman before each shift. If you do not check in with your chairman, you will not receive credit for your shift. Please remember that you must work a minimum of three (3) shifts to be eligible for the Fallen Oak play days and for the Island View Buffet Voucher and Windance Golf Voucher.
