Volunteers play a vital role in the success of the Rapiscan Systems Classic Presented by Coastal Mississippi golf tournament. We enlist the help of approximately 800 volunteers to work on various committees, and we want to ensure that each individual has a once-in-a-lifetime experience! With volunteer positions available throughout the course, with the players, on the driving range and even inside the ropes, volunteers will have a behind-the-scenes, unparalleled PGA TOUR Champions experience. Our volunteers help the tournament operate smoothly and maximize our contributions to our Tournament Charity Partners. We couldn’t do it without them!
Volunteers are assigned to a variety of committees, performing the many tasks required to conduct a PGA TOUR Champions event. A description of each committee is available for your review prior to your selection of the committee choices on the online Volunteer Application. Each volunteer is given the opportunity to list three committee preferences. Volunteers will be notified of their committee assignment through email once the Volunteer Application is completed. Committee assignments are granted on a first-come, first served basis.
All adult volunteers (those 18 and over) are required to work a minimum of three shifts over the course of the tournament. Shifts are approximately 3 to 4 hours long, but can vary depending on the committee. Volunteers are more than welcome to work more than three shifts if they would like. On the online application, you have the opportunity to select your availability and note if you want to work additional shifts. Please note, these times are not your final schedule, but will serve as a starting point for your Committee Chairman as they create a shift schedule. Once the shift assignments have been made, volunteers will be able to view their personal schedule through their volunteer online profile.
Junior Volunteers ages 13-17 also have the opportunity to volunteer at the tournament. Juniors who are 13 and 14 can sign up as standard bearers. Juniors between the ages of 15 and 17 can sign up as Standard Bearers, Marshals or for the Welcome Center/Admissions. If a Junior Volunteer is under 15 and accompanied by an adult, they can also sign up as a Marshal. For questions concerning this policy, please contact our Community Outreach Manager at 228-243-7021. Junior Volunteers do not receive the Volunteer Package as listed above. They will receive a complimentary t-shirt and hat to wear upon arriving for their first shift.
